Built in a garage, held ever since
Iron Dome began as five kids from Gårdsten who entered a garage LAN because the flyer promised free pizza. Gårdscupen 2019 was folding tables, one working projector, and a bracket of sixteen. They won it without dropping a map, split a prize pool that barely covered the bus home, and registered the team name that same night. The garage is still there. So is the habit of taking every tournament slightly too seriously.
The years after were Nordic opens, borrowed monitors, and long drives out of Gothenburg in a Volvo that belonged to one of their mothers. Their edge was the refusal to give up a bombsite: across the Nordic circuit Iron Dome holds a 66 percent CT round-win rate, the best the region has recorded, and that number gave them their identity before any trophy did. Opponents learned early that planting the bomb was the easy part.
In 2026 the team sits fourteenth in Europe with a 61-23 record, seven trophies, and a standing pile of offers from larger organizations. All of them have been declined. Iron Dome is still five players sharing a whiteboard and a rented office on Hisingen, run on the same spreadsheet BlubbatroN started in 2019. The motto painted on the wall has never needed updating. The site never falls.
